flowers while others love getting liquored up and if your guest of honor sways
towards the latter, well then let us help you out with some incredibly easy but
amazingly elegant looking and tasting drink recipes.
The Supreme Plate wishes
to say “Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms found around the World.” Whether
you raised your own or someone else’s children the World appreciates all that
you real women have done for us over the years.

Boodles British Gin
Gin doesn't always get the respect it deserves
nowadays. With all of these fancy, colorful and celebrity-endorsed liquors
coming out, the juniper berry derived nectar of the Gods somehow seems to fall
by the wayside when drinks are being ordered. Boodles British Gin, a classic
brand that was a favorite of Winston Churchill’s, stands tall above its
competitors merely because of how smooth and mild its flavors are especially
when mixed into a classic cocktail. A few years back, Gin was all the rage as
people began re-experimenting with classic Martini recipes and other Gin based
drinks. But as times changed and people began focusing their attention
elsewhere, many brands were left shaking their heads in disbelief at how fast
the climate changed in the world of mixology.
Boodles Gin, a longtime favorite
libation base to quite a few of our British friends is not what you would
expect it be considering its rather cost friendly price. Mixing up a couple of
colorful cocktails yesterday after a long day in the test kitchen we decided
two things; 1. Boodles deserves to be our house brand of Gin from here on out
and 2. Boodles will have you not leave you with a headache the next morning (that
is unless you're a sloppy drinker and you should probably be seeking help elsewhere,
not in a bottle.) We took the smooth route and put a slight spin on a few old
world classics such as the and had a quite relaxing evening, while plotting the
next days debauchery out.
Our favorite drink of the night came simply from
pouring 1 part Boodles Gin over ice into a chilled rocks glass, adding 2 parts
Ginger Ale & 1 thin slice of Lime. I believe they call that a Gin Gin in
certain circles but we ended up calling the “Gin Limey.” A few of those will
have you ready for just about anything, so this is where you must make sure to
have a designated driver close by, cause you will get hungry eventually.
The end result, get your hands on a few bottles
before the weekend arrives and practice the fine art of cocktail making at
home. Your friends will love you and appreciate your thoughtfulness.

The Captain Black & Ginger
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, ok its
not even around the corner anymore, it has rounded that last base and is headed
straight for you at this point. The question we must ask is simply, are you
ready? Sure everyone thinks that because they have their turkey and ham ready,
a few sides they think are up to par for the families partaking in, but what
about your libation game?
Do you have what it takes to satisfy not only
yourself when it comes to pouring a drink but can you deliver in making sure that
all of your guests are properly quenched and sauced up?
The Captain Black & Ginger is an easy to
consume cocktail, not so pungent so as to have you feeling as if you drank
lighter fluid, yet strong enough to keep you well fueled for your evening
encounter.
Enjoy Thanksgiving, Responsibly.

Homemade Mocha Frappe's
Before we fall fully into Fall and have to start
bundling up (I know many places across the Nation are already feeling that
freeze) we figured we’d celebrate National frappe Day with a little Homemade
Mocha Frappe recipe.
As we all grow older, many of us depend on certain vices
to get us through the day and Coffee without a doubt has a strong hold on many
of our lives. This refreshing little twist on what we commonly pay $3 to $8
dollars for at a store, can be made at home for next to nothing and will even
taste better than that store bought junk, once you perfect how you like it.
Enjoy National Frappe Day!!

Don Q Gran Anejo, A Must Have.
It
is said that, “Aging mellows the Spirit, but never should it become dull.” Don Q Gran Anejo Rum is the epitomy of that very saying, in that its aged 12 years
to create the perfect balance between the sweet and dry flavors that just
aren’t found in everyday brands of Rum.
Gran
Anejo is the kind of Rum, you sip neat or on the rocks and wont feel as if your
drinking gasoline. Found at finer spirit distilleries and liquor stores of a
grander nature, Don Q Gran Anejo is something you find on your uncles shelf,
who just so happens to be a connoisseur of the finer things in life and has
that bit of style you tried to imitate in your younger days, Classic all the
way around.

out their website for more information on this great libation and all of the
other incredible flavors they make: www.DonQ.com

The Razz & Sprite
As
August and the lovely heat wave that has decided to grace us with its presence
continue to move on ahead towards National Rum Day, we decided to try out a
drink that can be made with everyday ingredients that are commonly kept in
every kitchen. Using Bacardi® Razz™, a few dashes of
Sprite, some Limes and fresh Raspberries, we found that this drink will satisfy
the thirst like no other on such a blazing day as the one we are about to
experience.
The
great thing about this drink is the Lime & Raspberry combo really plays
well with the Rum, leaving it not too strong, not too sweet.
Enjoy
the Razz & Sprite Responsibly.
Ingredients:
2
parts Bacardi® Razz™
4
parts Sprite (or other Lemon Lime Soda that you prefer)
Fresh
Raspberries (washed thoroughly and dried)
Limes
(washed and cut into rounds)
Ice
Directions:
Drop
1 Lime round into the bottom of chilled glass, then fill the glass with ice and
add 10 Raspberries.
Pour
in the Bacardi Razz and add the Sprite.

of with another round or two of Lime and stir well.
Serve

Drink of The Day: The Don Q Bootsy Collins
We
recently got our Rum Loving hands on some Don Q Cristal Rum and figured lets
get to work instantly on testing this baby out. With National Rum Day, quickly
approaching we have been promoting drinks that use rum all month and were
really excited to try this brand out, as we have heard its mixability and
smoothness is incomparable to any other brand on the market. That is a bold
statement to make we know, but how many times have you made a mixed drink and
all you taste is the overpowering flavor of one ingredient and not enjoyed your
libation?
A
five-column distillation process (done at an amazingly Clean & Green / energy efficient plant that we will get into further later) is used to create their amazingly smooth,
flagship Rum that is aged from 1 – 3 years in American white oak barrels,
resulting in an 80 proof Rum that is smoother than silk and refreshing in any
and all classic cocktails you can pour up that call for Rum.
We
can’t wait to really kick off the weekend with our newfound friend Don Q, to see what kind of adventures we can really get into and really report back to you on Monday.
Today
we had to run with a recipe they provided us entitled The Don Q Bootsy Collins,
fitting to say the least in our opinion.
Check
out the recipe and more on their website:
Don
Q Premium Puerto Rican Rum
Ingredients:
1
oz Don Q Limon
¾
oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1

1
Lemon Peel, washed and cut into strips or peeled to create twists
Directions:
For
the Cinnamon Syrup, dissolve one part sugar and one part hot water, add 4 to 5
Cinnamon sticks and let it sit over night.
In
a drink mixer, pour both Rums, Lemon Juice, Liqueur, Syrup and Ice, cover and
shake until the mixer is ice cold to the touch.
Strain
into a chilled, ice-filled Collins glass and top off with a dash of Club Soda.
Garnish
with Lemon Peel & serve with a straw or Swizzle Stick.

Limón Y Iced Tea
Say
it with us, “Simplicity is key.” Not every libation needs 30 ingredients, many
of which you have never heard of, nor want to buy to let go to waste until your
next party, that’s just a sin. The Limón & Ice Tea cocktail is the kind of
drink your Grandmother would call a Summertime delight and your friends would
devour by the jug if they hung around our offices.
Quick, easy, delicious and
thirst quenching, this drink is perfect for the heat wave the Nation is
expected to experience over the next week.
Enjoy
Responsibly.
Ingredients:
2
parts Bacardi® Limón
4
parts Freshly made Iced Tea
Directions:
Fill
a chilled glass with ice.
Squeeze
2 Lemon wedges into the glass.
Pour
Bacardi® Limón then the Iced Tea over the ice and stir until combined.
Enjoy.
