The Food Holidays of October 2013

In the music industry every is worried about getting their release out in the fourth quarter because that is when the heavyweights usually come out to play. Christmas, Hanukkah and every other holiday that requires gift giving usually takes place in the 4th quarter of the year and with that come a lot of added sales. In the food industry things are no different. True everyone wants to watch their weight so they can stay in shape for next years heat wave, but in the end we almost all succumb to the greatest of sweets & treats that can be found just around every corner this time of year.  Last year around October brought about some major changes in our business, all for the better and I wish to simply say thank you to all of our supporters for coming out to our events, following the site and letting us know how we can help make your live better and our site even more influential towards eating right and living a more fulfilling life.

Four Mother's Day Libations Fit For A Queen (Mixed Drink Recipes)

When Mimosas just no longer cut the mustard for your Mom, make sure you check out this list of libations built for a Queen (or King.) Mother’s Day is right around the corner so don’t be that guy or girl who plans to show their Mom some love at the last minute, resulting in a crappy gift and brunch at a packed restaurant.

Show some class this year, by making a few cocktails to pre-game up before you take Mom somewhere she has never been to eat. Some people love flowers while others love getting liquored up and if your guest of honor sways towards the latter, well then let us help you out with some incredibly easy but amazingly elegant looking and tasting drink recipes.

The Supreme Plate wishes to say “Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms found around the World.” Whether you raised your own or someone else’s children the World appreciates all that you real women have done for us over the years.

To my Mother, I couldn’t have gotten this far without you and hope that I am making ya proud.

The Spicy Oyster Shooter

The end of Summer is steadily approaching and with that we will need to start switching up our drink and dinner menus to fit the season accordingly. With it being the 1st day of September that means that Oyster Season has officially begun. September is home to some great food holidays and today is actually National Wine Seasons 1st day as well as National Cherry Popover Day.

With the amount of days we have to spend laying out by the pool dwindling it is time to introduce to you, The Spicy Oyster Shooter. Playing out like a Bloody Mary mixed with the most delicate sushi, this drink is one that can’t be passed up on. I am sure many people will get nervous when they hear it has an actual oyster in it, but with the spicy cayenne pepper, pepper vodka and celery salt, this thing will taste better than drink you have consumed after biting into the freshest of hand made sushi rolls.

Enjoy this often as Oysters are good for you (and for your libido according to who you ask.)
