Cherries Jubilee Made At Home

Cherries Jubilee Made At Home.
Sometimes the ingredients we choose to use need a little sprucing up before we can actually consume them how we want too. In this case, the cherries we are using to make our Homemade Cherries Jubilee need to be flambéed (or set on fire) to bring them together perfectly with the Vanilla Ice Cream.
Be careful when trying to make this dish at home, its not overly hard to do, but if you have had a few drinks or aren’t familiar with the technique, when the fire does finally catch onto the alcohol, it may surprise you and we’d hate for you to get burned before you get to enjoy your hard work.
Enjoy this tonight when your kids get home from school or by yourself while everyone is gone, we’re sure you deserve some ice cream after a long hard weekend.

Peach Fritters w/ Orange Glaze

Nothing completes a meal like Fritters. I mean it may sound like a foreign concept to some, but having a warm bit of doughy goodness of any sort is a great sidekick to almost every meal.
If you are looking for the perfect accroutrement to either a meal weather it be a perfectly grilled piece of fish or chicken breast or you need something to spruce up that freshly bought ice cream you’ve been looking for an excuse to eat then look no further.

These Peach Fritters and Orange Glaze are what you need to be making next time you have a few friends over instead of that boring loaf of garlic bread you yanked out of the freezer department months ago.

Besides, today is National Fritter Day and what better way to celebrate with something sweet and a few strong drinks. I am sure as we speak a few strong drinks will make your day better, (that is unless you’re a school bus driver.)

Enjoy!

National Food Holiday / Recipe Of The Day: Apple Turnovers

A turnover is a kind of pastry made by placing a filling on a piece of dough, folding the dough and sealing it. Turnovers can be sweet or savory and are often made as a sort of portable meal or dessert, similar to a sandwich.

It is common for sweet turnovers to have a fruit filling and be made with a short pie like crust or puff pastry dough. Savory turnovers generally contain meat and / or vegetables and can be made with any sort of dough, though a kneaded yeast dough seems to be the most common in Western Cuisines. They are usually baked, but may be fried.

Savory turnovers are often found in convenience stores and in supermarkets often with Beef or Chicken and have to meet a standard of identity or composition, and it must contain a certain amount of meat or poultry.

National Vanilla Cupcake Day - Vanilla Cupcakes w/ Lemon Meringue Frosting

The way the world looks at food is constantly changing. A few years ago professionals would have never thought that Cupcakes would take the world by storm the way they have.
With shops popping up in every city, operated sometimes by people with little to no experience, but a fondness for those little cakes sometimes the customers are getting the short end of the stick when it comes to the finished products.
Needless to say with a bit of help the perfect patisserie can be found and turned into your go to in a clutch bakery of choice whenever an event arises that calls for cupcakes or anything sweet.
But for those who like a little adventure in their life, it is much more fun to take a moment to learn how to do something for yourself, in the end you can put your own twist on it and have a sense of self pride in what you have created.
This recipe is simple, and delicious. A light, fluffy and moist vanilla cupcake topped off with a Lemon Meringue frosting that will perfectly cap off any savory dining experience.
We used a bit of red food coloring to make our Cupcakes Pastel Pink, but you can choose to do them in whatever color you like, it will not affect the flavor (just go easy on the food coloring whatever color you do choose.)
Enjoy them today on the great holiday that is National Vanilla Cupcake Day.
