ROTD: Strawberry Salad Smoothie


Starting off the year on a healthy note never anyone in our book. We promised ourselves that we were going to eat as little processed or pre-prepared food as possible this year, we wanted to put this incredibly healthy recipe up for everyone to try out. This Strawberry Salad Smoothie recipe makes for a gluten-free & vegan beverage that will surely help power you through the morning as well as help cleanse the body of a lot of the artery clogging goodies we consumed throughout the holiday season.

Ingredients:
1 Banana (peeled & quartered)
1 large Orange (peeled & quartered)
2 stalks of Celery (washed thoroughly, peeled & quartered)
1 large Carrot (washed thoroughly, peeled & diced)
8 – 10 large Strawberries (washed thoroughly & tops removed)
1 cup Ice Cubes


Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender in the order listed.
Turn the blender on low and allow everything to start to circulate gradually increasing the speed to high.
Allow the blender to go for about 20 to 30 seconds or until your desired consistency has been reached.

Makes about 2 - 3 servings
