Time is Illmatic Trailer

Illmatic came out a couple of days before my sixteenth birthday. The album took my life by storm. The streets were buzzing a few years prior to who this dude was kicking these rhymes, let alone saying the things he was saying, it just seemed so far ahead of its time. 20 years later the album to me is still untouched by any other hip hop album that has been released and until years of recent, has yet to have received the level of respect it so rightfully deserves.
Here is the trailer, if you haven’t caught the flick on tv or in the movies, you’re sleepin’. And as the album says, “Never Sleep, ‘cause Sleep is The Cousin of Death.”

With age comes wisdom, and with wisdom come great memories of things long gone. This album should take us all back to the days of quality boom bap Hip Hop and rhythmic patterns unheard before.

A Legend Blesses The Supreme Plate

To some Graffiti is nothing more than someone scribbling their moniker on a wall or somewhere they don't own, ruining the value of whatever surrounds it. To those narrow minded individuals I have a few choice words but will refrain from taking that path here. While our storefront has been under construction, we have had the great pleasure of playing host to a few visionaries of sorts to help us culminate our project or better yet, our dream.

Recently the walls in our store were graced with a different form of hand-skills from the legendary artistic revolutionary, Prime K2S. Prime and the big homie Kev Hash put their fly creative minds together with our newly touched up logo and the results were nothing less than DOPE! BTW no the graffiti wont be staying, but the fly vinyl work will be there forever.

De La Soul w/ The Spirit of Wu Tang - Get Away (Video)

I need not speak on how incredible a group like De La Soul is, or how instruental they have been in many peoples lives. It goes without saying that they broke the mold with their “Hip Hop Hippy” vibes and style of dress as well as their non hardcore approach to creating songs that have done more than withstand the test of time. De La Soul, for those that don’t know have been around for over 20 years, making music that knows no limits and takes no prisoners. True indeed they never aspired to be the most thuggish rappers alive, nor did they sell dope to kids and prance around like comical pimps in their videos. De La Soul did what needed to be done, they made DOPE music that spoke for itself. Plugs Won, Two & Three aka Trugoy The Dove, Pos Dnous & Dj Maseo were very influential in my younger years and every time I have seen them perform they never fail to impress and put on an energetic, hyped show. I can say without any hesitation I Love This Group, and this song right here goes to show that they don’t gimmicks to make you pay attention.
Featuring the original intro from the highly acclaimed Wu Tang Clan’s “Wu Tang Forever” De La’s  whole new approach to the strings and words of The Rza & Gza take flight in a whole new direction, which couldn't have come at a better time for an older head such as myself.

Lord Finesse Live in Tokyo pt.1 (Stream & Download)

Whatever your musical preferences may be I think we all can agree that music is a major driving force behind millions of individual’s lives. Whether you're a Hip Hop purist, an old school funk lover or a hard rock head it makes no difference, great music is great music. For those in the know, Lord Finesse has been behind the boards for some of Hip Hops most stellar releases and his knowledge of music delves deeper than many can even comprehend.

Recently touring extensively through Japan, The Underboss took to the tables for two hours and gave an extremely lucky audience the opportunity to hear some of the most beautifully mixed classics ever. Lucky for us, he and the good people over at Slice-Of-Spice Records have released the first hour of the set for us all to hear. I know I cannot wait to catch the second hour.

Take a moment to stream this gem, turn it up loud and find yourself in a better mood for the rest of your day, we promise.
