Places to Eat at Coachella 2013

Palm Springs is world renowned for its leisurely activities. Whether in town for a weekend at one of the many luxurious spas, a few rounds of golf or taking some time to act a fool with a few friends at Coachella, Palm Springs is an out of the way gem amongst the many places to find a bit of peace and tranquility in California. With Coachella just a few days away, now is the time to put together a game plan for where you will want to eat after a few live shows, some good ol’ fashioned pushing and shoving to move through the crowds and of course some over priced drinks.

The food court is going to be amazing this year with heavyweights such as Ruths Chris, The Lime Truck, Clover Juice, Spicy Pie, Epic Burritos and our favorite Pink’s Hotdogs providing food for the masses (should you have access to the areas they may be located in.) In Recent News: Benihana of Beverly Hills Was Also Closed For Vermin Infestation

With a bit of a closer look into recent restaurant opening and closings we noticed that another popular spot for people to hit up (especially for special events or corporate lunches) was Benihana on La Cienaga Blvd in Beverly Hills, who had to be closed down from September 13^th thru the 17^th for Vermin Harborage and Vermin Infestation. 

Having problems of these nature plague many restaurants sometimes because of the surrounding businesses who happen to have poor cleaning habits. That being said it still should never get to the point where your spot has to be closed down by the city or state.

After reopening the management has refused to comment on the situation other than to say, “it has been handled.”

California Finally Enacts its Ban on Foie Gras

With an 8 year old Ban finally coming into effect on July 1^st 2012, California joins such great places as Israel, Turkey, Argentina and Italy to make the selling of Foie Gras illegal. Being that Foie Gras cannot legally be sold in any restaurant or store, businesses have gotten savvy and have began to treat it in a similar fashion to how Medical Marijuana is so widely distributed throughout California and are instead, giving it away in exchange for donations at finer more reputable establishments.

Sure serving Foie Gras is illegal in this state, but as far as enforcing the law, who is actually going to do so? Chefs around the World are weighing in heavy on the debate as to whether or not the concept of gorging a duck for the sole purpose of consuming their liver is ethical in this day and age. With those arguments come great points from both sides, but the fact remains the same, it is illegal to harvest a duck for the purposes of making Foie Gras and it is just as illegal to serve it your establishment.

Another problem that stems from not being able to serve such a product that people have come to enjoy so regularly for numerous different reasons is what will the businesses do who have hundreds of employees to take care of? In some cases those businesses are seeing a huge boom in the demand for their products, as the public at large are fearful it may become increasingly harder to find over the next few years. Those same businesses are smart and have moved outside of the States lines and should continue to do just fine, that is until the next State, says they no longer wish to permit such a business within their borders. 

Celebrity Chef Cat Cora Cited for DUI in Santa Barbara

In Santa Barbara, Celebrity Chef Cat Cora, was unfortunately cited for driving under the influence after what sounds like a very minor traffic accident took place, police have confirmed to TheSupremePlate.com. Chef Cat Cora, is scheduled to be arraigned July 26^th on one count of driving under the influence, a charge she will not likely face jail time for. Chef Cora is best known for her roles on Food Networks “Iron Chef” and Bravo’s “Around the World in 80 Plates.”

As sad as it is, reports are that Chef Cora's BAC was more than twice the legal limit, which was confirmed by 3 separate tests taken by field officers and at the hospital, before she was taken to a sobering center in Santa Barbara. Reports show that Chef Cora stated to have consumed 3 bottles of beer at the Cold Spring Tavern before rear ending a car on June 17th at around 6:15pm while arguing with her longtime partner Jennifer Cora.
