The Great Pumpkin Has Arrived at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay


Located in the heart of the ‘Pumpkin Capital of the World,’ The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay celebrates the great gourd during the Annual Pumpkin Celebration. The fall spirit comes alive with an array of seasonal offerings from themed dishes in the resort’s restaurants and pumpkin cooking classes – to pumpkin-infused facial and body treatments in The Ritz-Carlton Spa. 
“Fall is the most popular season at the resort,” said General Manager George Munz. “Locals and visitors from around the world come to our coastal resort to enjoy all of the pumpkin-themed events and activities, as well as attend the Annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival,” he added.

Guests are invited to enjoy the delights of this celebrated season through a variety of events, activities and offerings. 

Pumpkin Sunday Brunch
For those with a palate for pumpkin, Navio’s Chef de Cuisine Sean Eastwood showcases locally grown pumpkin varieties from Farmer John’s Pumpkin Farm in Half Moon Bay. Pumpkin
 Sunday Brunch features such taste-tempting dishes as pumpkin soup, pumpkin risotto, and pumpkin desserts, as well as other sweet and savory selections. Served Sunday, October 6, 13, 20 and 27, Pumpkin Sunday Brunch is $98 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity.
Pumpkin Cooking Classes
Each
 Saturday in October, the resort’s culinary team presents a seasonal cooking class that highlights creative ways to incorporate pumpkin into a menu. Each class includes a culinary demonstration and a three-course pumpkin lunch at the Chef’s Table in Navio. Cooking classes are available Saturday, October 5, 12, 19 and 26 and are $75 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and classes are limited to 12 attendees.


Pumpkin Spa Treatments
Pumpkins are not only a tasty treat; they also are nourishing to the skin. Throughout October, The Ritz-Carlton Spa features a luxurious 90-minute Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Facial that utilizes a pumpkin enzyme mask. High in beta carotene and vitamins A and C, the mask leaves the skin smooth, plump and hydrated. Guests also enjoy a 25 percent savings on The Spa’s signature pumpkin body treatments.
The Ritz-Carlton Pumpkin Bake Shop
Pastry Chef Christian Brassfield prepares home-made pumpkin sweets that are available in the resort’s Gift Shop through October. Sweets such as pumpkin spice chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin marshmallows, pumpkin chocolate truffles and pumpkin bread are perfect take home treats.
The Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival
Guests will not want to miss the 43rd Annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, held
 October 19 through 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Festival features a pumpkin weigh-off, a special display of heavyweight champion pumpkins, three stages of entertainment, the Great Pumpkin Parade, a Haunted House, harvest-inspired crafts, homestyle foods, and expert pumpkin-carver Farmer Mike. Festival admission is free.
